zumBrunnen Provides “Peace of Mind” and “Assurance of Safety” for Ambitious Lenbrook Square 25-Story Life Plan Community Tower

“We only talked with zumBrunnen because our past experience with them in developing a capital and replacement plan was excellent. They were also highly respected by our lender.”
Deborah E. Taylor (retired), Former President & CEO
Lenbrook Square

Challenges

Lenbrook Square is a nationally accredited Life Plan Community (CCRC). The facility originally opened in 1983 in Atlanta’s desirable Buckhead neighborhood. After being in operation for over twenty years, the client planned an ambitious 25-story addition to their facilities. The client wanted assurances of a safe building and the peace of mind in knowing their projects were on track, so they commissioned zumBrunnen as a neutral third party to assist with pre-closing document review and construction monitoring.

Solutions

In 2005, zumBrunnen assisted with a Phase I expansion consisting of the reinforcement of the existing parkingOwner structure and foundation work for a future senior living tower. In Phase II, zumBrunnen provided consulting services from 2006 through 2009 for the construction of the new 25-story senior living tower that contains 142 independent living apartments, a wellness center and spa, skilled nursing units, and the renovation of existing community areas.

“Jim Milam, the project manager from zumBrunnen, was always on top of construction progress,” said Debbie Taylor, former CEO of Lenbrook Square. “He was realistic and forceful in resolving situations. To me, the value of working with zumBrunnen is the assurance of a safe building and peace of mind in knowing they are on top of everything.”
