ATLANTA, GA, December 3, 2014 – zumBrunnen, Inc., an independent building consulting firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Doug McMillan, PE, to President of the company effective January 1, 2015.  McMillan succeeds John zumBrunnen who has served in this position since founding the company in 1989. zumBrunnen will continue to serve as CEO of the firm.

A 16-year veteran of the company, McMillan began his career with zumBrunnen, Inc. in October 1998 when he started as a Senior Project Manager in the Atlanta office. In June 2006, McMillan was promoted to Director of Project Management and took over operational responsibilities of the project management team.

“Being named as President of the company is an incredible honor, and I am eager to step into this leadership role,” said McMillan. “We have an incredible team of project managers, and I am excited to lead us into the future.”

Prior to joining zumBrunnen, Inc., McMillan began his engineering career in 1980, and he has managed commercial projects worth over $200 million in both private and public sectors. Through his vast experience, McMillan understands all aspects of the building consulting industry and is a respected leader with a proven history of directing projects and successfully leading team members.

McMillan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. He is a former Resident Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and he is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). McMillan is a licensed professional Civil Engineer in the state of California. He is also certified as a level I thermographer.
