Atlanta, GA – April 29, 2011 – zumBrunnen, Inc., an independent building consulting firm, is presenting an educational seminar at the Aging Services of California’s Annual Conference and Exposition being held May 2-4, 2011 in Monterey, CA. Tom Doyen, Director of Business Development for zumBrunnen, will present the session. Doyen is a dynamic speaker and an expert in senior living issues.

zumBrunnen’s session is categorized under the Financial Management track and is titled “Strategic Capital Replacement Planning: Real Answers to Real Problems” and will be held on Tuesday, May 3 from 2:15 – 4:15 pm.  As the senior living field matures, the composite age of facilities and communities is also increasing. Many older communities (whether they are a HUD project, independent living, healthcare or a CCRC) are discovering they do not have adequate capital replacement reserves to remain competitive. This session will focus on why and how to execute a strategic financial and capital replacement program to ensure an aging community is reserving the appropriate amount of capital replacement funds for the future. Doyen will identify the specific roles of the community assessment consultants in answering the “4R’s” questions: do we repair, renovate, reposition or replace? In addition, the session will examine methodologies for long-term capital replacement planning including integrated community assessments to evaluate future capital needs.
