Capital Reserve Budget Planning for Maintaining Existing Facilities and Its Role in the Acquisition of New Facilities – Wednesday, June 12, 2019 – Session 4
Doug McMillan, P.E., President of zumBrunnen and Dayle Krahn, Vice President of Property Maintenance & Development for Baptist Housing are co-presenting an educational session on capital reserve budget planning. This session focuses on how Baptist Housing successfully utilizes capital budget planning to keep their facilities adequately funded, as well as how they approach the acquisition of facilities as it relates to the physical assessment of the facility.
This session will explain why senior living communities with aging facilities face special challenges in budgeting for the future. Attendees will learn how expenses can compound rapidly in older buildings and why this often leaves owners without adequate funds to fix problems. The session will show why capital reserve budgeting is a significant tool in keeping communities up to par and how it is also useful for owners who are in the process of acquiring existing facilities.
