Atlanta, GA – March 15, 2011 – zumBrunnen, Inc., an independent building consulting firm, is co-presenting an educational seminar at the Life Services Network (LSN) Annual Meeting & Expo being held March 23-25, 2011 at the Navy Pier in Chicago, IL. John zumBrunnen, Founder and President of the firm, will co-present the session. zumBrunnen is a respected speaker and national expert in senior living construction and facility asset management issues.

zumBrunnen’s session is titled “Fundamentals of Capital Planning: Financial and Physical Health and Capabilities” and will be held on March 24 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm continuing from 2:00 – 3:30 pm. John zumBrunnen will make the joint presentation with Chad D. Kune, Principal with LarsonAllen LLP. Attendees will receive 2.5 continuing education units for the session and will learn about key strategic planning fundamentals of non-profit organizations. They will also gain an understanding of how to evaluate financial strength and the capacity to access capital and learn how to model capital capacity to fund various market opportunities identified by the strategic planning process. The speakers will explain philosophies and methodologies for long-term capital replacement planning and facility assessments used to determine future capital funding reserves. Attendees will also learn how facility assessments and capital replacement funding needs are modeled to answer the strategic planning “4R’s” question – i.e. – Do we repair, renovate, reposition or replace?
